We use this term to describe how we employ the Snowflake component of our service offering. Not all OxFlow clients need a Data Mart, however when a workload requires indexing and possibly transformations of data from more than one system, we will suggest use of a Data Mart.
We us Snowflake as for our Data Marts. We’ve developed a low complexity database model which is setup in the client’s Snowflake instance when we begin our engagement. We setup a set of databases, schemas, roles, security settings and resource monitoring which is then customized to fit the client’s specific data and reporting pipeline particulars.
We’ve developed methods for managing the costs of Snowflake as well as monitoring so that this SaaS service remains a lean and cost effective tool in any OxFlow environment.
Setup of the Snowflake Data Mart takes less than 10 minutes and is done in a Zoom session with our client and our configuration is fully ready in the same day.
